How To Make Money From An Unresponsive List

There's no question that the best way to build your list is to give away a free gift of some kind in return. However, this can present a problem as you're left with a list that contains a fairly high number of freebie hunters who have no intention of buying any products from you. All is not lost, however. You can still squeeze cash out of these subscribers, as I'm about to show you.

The first thing you can do is to use your list as a way of directing traffic to monetized pages of your website or blog. So if you have a list of freebie seekers, then you should consider sending these subscribers to individual web pages that offer valuable content first and foremost, but are also surrounded by strategically placed Adsense ads, for example, so you only need some of your subscribers to click on a few ads to earn you money.

Similarly, depending on your niche, you could also send your subscribers to pay-per lead offers where you can get paid every time you send a lead to a particular company. This can be very lucrative because in most cases they may only need to fill out a simple form, for example, so you don't require them to pay out any money for you to earn commissions.

You can also extend this to pay-per-action offers where you earn a commission every time one of your subscribers carries out a particular activity. This could include things like signing up to a newsletter, downloading a piece of software, requesting a free information pack, joining as a free member, etc.

Finally, if you run your own blog, then you can enlist the help of the freebie hunters on your list to dramatically increase the amount of traffic to your blog. This is where you harness the power of Web 2.0 sites and social networking.

By regularly adding good quality content to your blog, you can email your subscribers every time you make a new post, and crucially in the email itself you can encourage them to bookmark the article on sites like Digg, Netscape and Reddit, if they found the article useful. This is an incredibly powerful method of increasing your blog traffic and will really help bring your blog to a wider audience.

So if you ever find yourself with a seemingly worthless list of freebie hunters, think again because there's plenty of ways to make money from your list, regardless of whether they're buyers or not.
